The Military Police Day
An official reception in the Great War Hall has marked today the Day of the Military Police. The gathering was attended by General Ljubisa Dikovic, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces. with members of the Collegium, Milorad Simic, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Serbia, members of the collegium of the Minister of Defence, members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and numerous guests.
Congratulating all the members on their holiday, Colonel Rajko Milovanovic, Head of the Military Police Department, pointed out that the unit was and still is an elite part of the armed forces, primarily because of the special tasks and duties performed by its members.
- Nowadays, the Military Police is modern, well-equipped, superbly trained and recognizable part of the Serbian Armed Forces which, performing complex tasks, gives full contribution to the preservation and improvement of the operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence. Members of the Military Police have achieved a prominent role in the missions of the Serbian Armed Forces, especially in the joint engagement with members of the Ministry of Interior, on securing the state border with Macedonia and Bulgaria, as well as in multinational peacekeeping operations in the world, Colonel Milovanovic said, adding that authorized persons of that unit have achieved good results in the execution of all the assigned tasks.
Speaking about the priority directions of the development of the Military Police, the Head of that Department announced reaching greater operability and efficiency in the work of units and authorities, as well as the strengthening of the security of units and institutions of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, but also the development of the international partnership relations and improvement of education and equipping with modern technical means.
- For the results achieved, we owe special thanks to all the organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior and the judicial authorities, Milovanovic said, expressing belief that the time that comes will bring further enhancement of cooperation with these institutions.
On the Day of the Military Police, at the ceremony, the deserving institutions, units of the Ministry of Interior and companies were awarded letters of gratitude For successful cooperation and the offered support in the realization of tasks.
