Minister of Defence meets Ambassador of Ukraine
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has talked today with Ambassador of Ukraine in Serbia Oleksandr Aleksandrovych about possibilities for enhancement of cooperation between the two countries.
During the talks, Djordjevic pointed out that Serbia has an independent foreign policy, but the greatest emphasis is currently dedicated to the fight against terrorism and human migrations. Immediate and substantial cooperation with all international actors in response to these threatsis the key interest of the Republic of Serbia. The Ministry of Defence continues with building of an effective defence system, in accordance with the foreign policy objectives based on the so-called. four pillars. This is how we look at the implementation of the principled policy of military neutrality, the minister said.
Full membership of the European Union remains a priority goal of Serbia. At the same time, Serbia is developing excellent relations with all countries of the world, on the basis of equality and mutual respect. Serbia develops and at the same time contributes to the development of interoperability with partners through the exchange of information, the development of multilateral cooperation, joint training and exercises, and participation in peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the UN and the EU.
During the meeting, Minister Djordjevic also informed the Ambassador of Ukraine about the engagement of the Ministry of Defence and the SerbianArmedForces in multinational operations, as well as the activities of the MoD and SAF in the process of European integration. By that our country shows commitment to the improvement of the existing skillsand development of the new ones, positioning itself as a leader when it comes to regional security.
