Exhibition "Beautiful Serbia - Beautiful China" opens
During the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to our country today, exhibition "Beautiful Serbia – Beautiful China" dedicated to the friendship between the two countries has been opened in the Atrium of the Central Military Club.
The exhibition was opened under the auspices of the Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information, the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, organized by Odbrana Media Centre and the "China Pictorial" Agency of the China International Publishing Group (CIPG).
The opening of the exhibition was attended by Sasa Mirkovic, State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information, Radmila Jagodic, Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Budget and Finance, Li Manchang, Chinese Ambassador, Liu Cairung, Vice President of the China International Publishing Group, Guo Weimin, Vice-Minister of the State Council Information Office of China and representatives of the Serbian Ministry of Defence.
Guo Weimin pointed out that the exposed 70 photos show friendship between Serbia and China, having a long tradition and history and that the two nations have always cherished "deep feelings and understanding".
- I believe that the visit of the President of China will bring new motivation for the development of relations between our two countries and that it will open a new chapter in cooperation. I hope that this exhibition, like a beautiful window, will help the peoples of both countries to get even better acquainted, Guo said.
According to the State Secretary Mirkovic, cooperation between Serbia and China in the last three years reached a very high level, "which makes us extremely proud of the dynamic exchange, especially in the field of culture and art".
- In this exhibition, through the lenses of Chinese and Serbian photographers, we can see scenes that adorn the extremely rich civilization, such as the Chinese one, and the scenes of our small but beautiful country. We also see the points of encounter and dialogue that enrich our shared memories and friendship and in the next few days during the visit of the Chinese president, key events for future relations of our two beautiful countries will take place –of beautiful Serbia and beautiful China, Mirkovic said.
Ambassador Li Manchang expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation between Serbia and China, especially in the field of culture.
- The name of the exhibition is really beautiful, and I am glad that in the photographs one can see the beauties of our two countries. I hope that there will be similar exhibitions in the future and that they will have the title of "Beautiful Serbs - Beautiful Chinese", joked the ambassador, adding that he believes that the exhibition and events during the three-day visit of the Chinese president to Serbia will deepen friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
On behalf of the host, the audience was greeted by Colonel Stevica Karapandzin, Director of Odbrana Media Centre, after which Sasa Mirkovic, Radmila Jagodic and Guo Weimin ceremonially cut the ribbon and officially opened the exhibition.
