Participation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces at the �Sports Synaxis�
Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces took part in this year's third edition of the "Sports Synaxis (assembly) of the Holy Serbia" at Ada Ciganlija. On the second day of the sporting event, the cultural-artistic program included performance of the "Stanislav Binički" Artistic Ensemble, and the members of the Special Purpose Military Police Battalion "Cobras" showed the visitors a part of their physical training level.Ensemble "Binicki" began today's program by performing the national anthem of the Republic of Serbia, and then they played compositions "Far Away", "March on the Drina" and the credit titles of the popular "Military Academy" series.
Members of the "Cobras" have demonstrated a mix of martial arts of self-defence, defence against firearms, throwing knives and other things, which caused great interest of many visitors.
On the grounds, several dozens of sports stations were set up, and the visitors were able to enjoy the tennis, handball, volleyball and other
sports and sports skills. All those who spent today’s day at the sports event were provided lunch – famous military beans.The programme was inspired by the life and work of Nikola Tesla and the young actor Predrag Vasic recited quotes and stories from Tesla's life. The programme hosts were actors Andjelka Prpic and Andrija Milosevic, and the participants who performed in front of many visitors of the field at Ada were artists Jelena Tomasevic, Slobodan Trkulja, Bilja Krstic, the band Neverne bebe, children's choirs, ballet schools and others.
The founders of the event are our famous athletes Dejan Tomasevic, Aleksandar Kristic, Igor Jankovic, Aleksandar Stanojevic and Goran Stevanovic. In order to show the values to which it strives in reality, the Orthodox Sports Society "Holy Serbia" has been organizing the major sporting event that received the status of "an event of special importance for the capital of Serbia" from the City of Belgrade due to the uniqueness of its concept and previous success. This year's "Sports Synaxis" took place at the sports fields at Ada Ciganlija on 14 and 15 May.
