Defence Minister meets with Ambassador of China
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has discussed today with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Li Manchang possibilities for improving defence cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Djordjevic said that China was a strategic partner and one of the most reliable friends of Serbia and that the Ministry of Defence was interested in developing mutually beneficial scientific-technical and military economic cooperation. With this purpose, it is expected that the delegation of the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence visits China in the forthcoming period.
The officials stated that the continuity of high-level meetings certainly contributes to the improvement of cooperation between Serbia and China in all fields. Djordjevic said that the Ministry of Defence will provide full support to the announced visit of the President of China Xi Jinping to Serbia, which is expected next month, hoping that this visit would be a strong impetus to further strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Djordjevic expressed his gratitude for the assistance that China provides to the defence system through military donations, including grant, in the amount of seven million yuans, whose delivery is planned for this year.
