Christmas in Borance base
Officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the First Army Brigade this year's Christmas according to the Julian calendar spend working on tasks of securing the administrative line and controlling the ground safety zone in the Section North.
They were visited at the base "Borance" by Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic, accompanied by Chief of the Training and Doctrine Department of the General Staff Brigadier General Marinko Pavlovic, Deputy Army Commander Major-General Zelimir Glisovic and Commander of the First Army Brigade Brigadier General Zeljko Petrovic.
Minister Gasic expressed his satisfaction at being able to spend Christmas, which is traditionally spent with one’s family and loved ones, with SAF members that are on the mission in the Ground Safety Zone.
Assessing the security situation in the ground security zone along the administrative line, Minister Gasic pointed out that the Serbian Armed
Forces, not only now, but also in the time that was behind us, had always been absolutely ready.

entrusted with 30 kilometres of the administrative line, starting from the Pancic’s Peak to the Pilatovici Peak. "Borance" is one of the many bases in which SAF members are deployed who, together with members of the Ministry of Interior, secure the administrative line with Kosovo.
The Ground Safety Zone (GSZ) extends along the administrative line of the Republic of Serbia with the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija (KiM), which is 382 kilometres long and 5 kilometres wide. It is divided into sectors A (from the state border with the Republic of Montenegro to the region between the SAF bases "Mrce" and "Trmka"), B (from the region between the SAF bases "Mrce" and "Trmka" to the region between the SAF bases "Karaula" and "Trsten") and B1 (from the region between the SAF bases "Karaula" and "Trsten" to the state border with the Republic of Macedonia).
