Regular rotation of Serbian Armed Forces team in European Union Training Mission in Central African Republic

A regular rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces’ contingent deployed to the EU mission for training security forces of this African country took place in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces — a staff officer appointed as Head of the Medical Service and six-member Medical Team — have successfully completed all assigned tasks since arriving in the area of operations in last October, thus confirming the reputation of the Serbian Armed Forces’ Medical Service in an international environment.

In the next six months, in accordance with the mission’s mandate, the new Serbian Armed Forces’ team will continue to perform the tasks related to medical support of training and primary health care for the international forces deployed in this mission.

The Serbian Armed Forces began participating in European Union Training Mission in Central African Republic in 2016, and, so far, more than 160 doctors and medical technicians have been deployed to this mission on duties at the HQ and as part of the Medical Team.

By engaging in both UN and EU peacekeeping operations, the Serbian Armed Forces, apart from building and preserving peace in the world, actively contribute to strengthening the position of our country in terms of foreign policy.
