Remembrance Day commemorating beginning of World War II in Yugoslavia
To mark the Remembrance Day commemorating the beginning of the Second World War in Yugoslavia, acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources Siniša Radović laid a wreath today at the Monument to the Fallen Pilots in Vilovo, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Wreaths were also laid by a delegation from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, led by Brigadier General Novica Gogić, State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Antić, representatives of the Titel Municipality and a number of associations that foster the traditions of Serbian liberation wars.
To mark the anniversary, the delegation from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces laid a wreath in the Ally of Martyrs at Belgrade’s New Cemetery, and wreaths were also laid by the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nemanja Starović, representatives of the City of Belgrade and citizens' associations.

The wreath-laying ceremonies marked the 84th anniversary of the bombing of Belgrade, which marked the beginning of the Nazi Germany’s attack on the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the Second World War.
