Regular SAF unit rotation in UNFICYP

Members of a Military Police detachment who served with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) have returned to the Republic of Serbia after handing over their duties to a new unit.
Over the past year, they successfully carried out all assigned tasks, demonstrating a high level of competence and professionalism, which are characteristic of the Serbian Armed Forces personnel.

Our unit serving in UNFICYP as part of the British contingent is responsible for a number of tasks, such as protecting the peacekeeping force, conducting investigations, and escorting important persons. Our unit performs its tasks in collaboration with the local police force.
In addition to the MP detachment, the Serbian contingent serving with UNFICYP also comprises staff officers working in the Mission HQ in Nicosia.

In this peacekeeping operation, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are responsible for monitoring the demarcation line, preventing renewed hostilities between the belligerents, coordinating activities between the military and civilian components of the mission, carrying out military police tasks and providing support in humanitarian activities.
