Minister Gašić presents Women’s Day gifts to women in Ministry of Defence, Serbian Armed Forces



On the occasion of March 8 - International Women’s Day, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić presented gifts to 150 women working at the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces at a ceremony held in the General Jovan Mišković Barracks in Belgrade.
Orchids, cards and gifts were also presented to other women employed at the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, female cadets, military school students, military service volunteers and Military Medical Academy patients.
The Defence Minister’s Women’s Day message reads as follows:

“Dear ladies serving in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces,

Thank you for serving your country with dedication, knowledge and bravery.  

Your role is priceless, and your commitment immeasurable. Happy Women’s Day.”
International Women's Day - March 8 celebrates the economic, political and social equality of women and men. March 8 was declared International Women’s Day in 1917, and the United Nations proclaimed 1975 as International Women's Year and began officially celebrating March 8 as International Women's Day.
