December class successfully completes individual training

Soldiers who have been performing voluntary military service since December 2024 have undergone specialized skills assessment at the Serbian Armed Forces specialized training centres.
The assessment followed the second phase of the first training period, during which the soldiers had completed all the activities relating to the individual tactical training and battlefield tactics, learned how to handle weapons and equipment specific to their respective branches/services, and completed all planned firing practices.

During the two-day assessment, in accordance with their military occupational specialties, the soldiers solved tactical problems and practiced actions and procedures, demonstrating their knowledge and skills in using weapons, combat assets and military equipment.

The assessment, which was carried out in the Army Training Centre in Požarevac, on the training ground of General Pavle Jurišić Šturm Barracks, involved infantrymen, artillerymen and engineers. Under the supervision of their superiors, they were assessed for the following skills: operating mortars and automatic grenade launchers, working as part of an artillery system crew, and laying antipersonnel mines.
Sergeant Marko Mišić, sniper instructor at the Infantry Training Company, says that the soldiers have completed all planned firing practices and stationary camp at the Pasuljanske Livade Training Area, which was a requirement they had to fulfil to be eligible for skills assessment.

— The soldiers are highly motivated, and, after completing the evaluation, they qualify for a new military occupational specialty, which is a cornerstone for their future career with the Serbian Armed Forces — says Sergeant Mišić, noting that, after the assessment, the soldiers will be sent to the Serbian Armed Forces units for collective training.

Lance Corporal Petar Markov, an operator of the 30 mm M93 grenade launcher, thinks that the individual skills assessment is an important stage of specialized training. He says that voluntary military service is challenging and that by doing military service, the citizens of the Republic of Serbia can learn more about the Serbian Armed Forces and develop team spirit in a healthy environment.
  — The assessment is the culmination of our training and an indication of our readiness to demonstrate everything we have learned over the past month and a half, in accordance with the defined criteria and standards that must be met — says Lance Corporal Markov, adding that they would not have achieved such great results had it not been for their superiors who put in a great deal of effort and patience in their training.

Class of December 2024 has fulfilled the assessment criteria and standards, having mastered the entire content covered in this training phase, which is also proof of the fact that the training was well planned and performed. What awaits the soldiers next, is a transfer to the Serbian Armed Forces units, where they will spend the remaining three months of their military service doing collective tasks training and being actively involved in the life and work of their units alongside professional SAF members.
