Tour of SAF units in Požarevac and Smederevska Palanka
Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Lieutenant General Tiosav Janković visited today some of the units of the Training Command and the 608th Logistics Base stationed in Požarevac and Smederevska Palanka.
At the General Pavle Jurišić Šturm barracks in Požarevac, he inspected the state and capabilities of the Army Training Centre and observed the training of military service volunteers and professional soldiers undergoing additional training. Afterwards, he took a tour of the classrooms, modern training aids and simulators used for specialized training of all categories of active service and reserve components of the Serbian Armed Forces’ infantry, artillery, armoured and engineer units. Next, General Janković visited a unit of the 608th Logistics Base in Smederevska Palanka, where he was presented with facilities for storing and maintaining weapons and military equipment that are housed at this location.
During today’s visit, Deputy Chief of the General Staff spoke with soldiers and their superiors and received reports from the commanders on the degree of completion of principal tasks. He expressed his satisfaction with the situation in the unit, SAF members’ level of skill and their attitude towards their tasks and responsibilities.
