Minister Gašić visits members of 204th Air Brigade
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited members of the 204th Air Brigade at the Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović military airfield in Batajnica today.
The commander of the 204th Air Brigade, Brigadier General Milan Elenkov, briefed the Minister of Defence about the situation in the unit, its tasks and the problems it faces.During the visit, Minister Gašić spoke with the Brigade members about their status and working conditions, wanting to hear directly from them how conditions can be improved and problems solved.
According to him, the state will continue to invest in the Air Force and Air Defence in order to further strengthen its operational capabilities and improve the position of its members.- Investing in the Air Force has enabled us to protect our airspace on our own and not depend on others in these complex geopolitical circumstances. It means investing in our future, in our safe skies, ensuring greater safety for our citizens and our country - said Minister Gašić, stressing that the state would continue working to create even better working conditions in the Air Force, in order to repay those who dedicated their lives and careers to safeguarding our skies and our homeland.
Minister Gašić highlighted the importance of the purchase of 12 brand new Rafale aircraft, alongside all the accompanying equipment, which will contribute to the security of our country and citizens. Minister Gašić also said that the reconstruction of the Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović military airfield in Batajnica would be undertaken in the coming period.
The Minister of Defence was accompanied on his tour by the Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, the Head of the Operations Department, General Staff, Major General Gordan Pavlović, the Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, and the Head of the Human Resources Department, General Staff, Brigadier General Slađan Hristov.
