Minister Gašić visits members of 98th Air Brigade
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited today members of the 98th Air Brigade stationed at the military airfields "Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović" in Niš and "Morava" near Kraljevo.
The Commander of the 98th Air Brigade, Colonel Dragan Mrdak, briefed Minister Gašić about the situation in the unit and the upcoming tasks. The Minister of Defence spoke with the Brigade members about further efforts to improve the living and working conditions in the unit, as well as their living standard.Minister Gašić expressed his satisfaction with the situation in the unit and added that investments made over the past several years in weapons and military equipment for the Air Force and Air Defence, including the 98th Air Brigade, had produced a tangible result.
- I am happy that the 98th Air Brigade is equipped with state-of-the-art aircraft and that equipment and modernization will continue. I have made sure that the Brigade members are well trained and ready to perform all tasks assigned to them. We will continue to make efforts to provide the Brigade members with even better living and working conditions, thus encouraging young people to join us - said Minister Gašić, adding that taking care of people would be one of the most important tasks of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the coming period.
Minister Gašić was accompanied on his tour today by the Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, the Head of the Operations Department, General Staff, Major General Gordan Pavlović, the Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, and the Head of the Human Resources Department, General Staff, Brigadier General Slađan Hristov.
