Death anniversaries of Field Marshal Živojin Mišić, Field Marshal Petar Bojović, Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm marked
To mark the anniversaries of the deaths of field marshals Živojin Mišić and Petar Bojović, and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces laid wreaths and paid homage to them at the New Cemetery complex in Belgrade.
The state ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the death of Field Marshal Petar Bojović was led by Director of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy Arno Guyon, while State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Antić led the state wreath-laying ceremony honouring Field Marshal Mišić and General Šturm.
Wreaths were also laid by representatives of the City of Belgrade, descendants of the prominent military leaders, representatives of associations committed to fostering traditions and numerous citizens.
Field marshals Živojin Mišić and Petar Bojović and General Pavle Jurišić Šturm took part in the Serbian-Turkish Wars (1876-1878), the Serbo-Bulgarian
War of 1885, the Balkan Wars and the First World War. All three men died in Belgrade, Field Marshal Živojin Mišić on January 20, 1921, Field Marshal Petar Bojović on January 19, 1945, and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm on January 14, 1922.
