Serbian Armed Forces artillerymen - through intensive training to superb skills
In accordance with the annual training programme, a period of intensive training is underway in the Serbian Armed Forces artillery battalions armed with self-propelled multiple rocket launchers, which are used to deliver concentrated fire over large target areas.
The training is being conducted at the Serbian Armed Forces training areas, with the aim of maintaining and improving the units’ collective skills and readiness to provide fire support to evolution units on operations.
The artillery system crews, consisting of soldiers and leaders, are practicing the tactics and procedures used to carry out fire missions in defence and offence, simultaneously improving their ability to perform their primary and secondary duties.
The commander of one of the artillery batteries and a training instructor, Major Ivica Vidanović, emphasizes that during the training, professional soldiers are “getting into a routine of working with the combat system”.
— In the past period, the artillery battery has been involved in different exercises. The unit is fully trained to perform its tasks. Nevertheless, we are carrying on with our intensive training, considering that these are new, sophisticated assets that require continuous practice - says Major Vidanović.
Continuous training is a vital task in the Serbian Armed Forces. It is conducted in cycles, in line with priorities set by commanders, so that units are always ready for combat action in all terrain, tactical and weather conditions.
