Lectures to students on hazards posed by use of pyrotechnics
This month, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are holding a series of lectures in elementary schools on the hazards posed by the use of pyrotechnics.
Lectures are being held as part of the CIMIC project entitled “Military Pyrotechnician in Elementary School” ahead of the approaching holidays, during which there will be an increase in the use of pyrotechnics. Lectures have already been held in schools in Veliko Gradište, Zaječar, Gornji Milanovac, Kruševac and Kuršumlija, and are yet to be held in the Belgrade municipalities of Grocka, Palilula, Rakovica and Sopot until the end of the year.
The aim of the project, which is carried out every year, is to raise awareness among elementary school students of the dangers of using pyrotechnics, and thus to improve children’s safety.
Specialists from the Serbian Armed Forces Training Command and Central Logistics Base explained to the students the hazards posed by firecrackers, fireworks, flares and other explosive devices, and taught them what to do if they encounter UXO.
They asked the children to avoid using pyrotechnics, bearing in mind that these devices can cause property damage and are detrimental to life and health of people and animals.
In addition to this project, the Serbian Armed Forces implement a number of other CIMIC activities, which help improve the quality of life of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and their safety, strengthening at the same time mutual trust, which they will continue to do in the future.
