Visit from Commander of National Guard Cyprus
The Commander of the National Guard Cyprus, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, is paying a return visit to our country at the invitation of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.
Today, General Tsitsikostas visited the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, where he and General Mojsilović discussed the current security situation in the region and around the world, as well as potential ways to improve bilateral military cooperation.
During the conversation, the traditionally good and friendly relations between our two countries were highlighted, the commitment to further strengthening military-to-military cooperation in all areas of mutual interest was confirmed, and the emphasis was placed on the implementation of joint activities of the Army, Air Force and Special Forces.
It was concluded that thus far, the cooperation had been very successful, extensive, and fully committed to strengthening the capabilities and interoperability of the armed forces and mutual understanding and that the same trend should continue in the future.
Afterwards, General Tsitsikostas and General Mojsilović visited the military airport Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović in Batajnica, and tomorrow the Commander of the National Guard Cyprus will be presented with part of the capabilities of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade at Orešac Training Area and the product range of PE Jugoimport SDPR.
General Tsikitsostas’s visit reflects the continuity in the implementation of high-level activities between the two militaries and is in line with the agreement to intensify military-to-military cooperation, which was concluded during General Mojsilović’s visit to Cyprus in April this year. Such high-level bilateral meetings contribute to mutual understanding and trust and provide a significant incentive to the improvement of defence cooperation, which aims to enhance the capabilities and interoperability of armed forces.
