At the deployment locations of the Mixed Artillery Brigade and military training grounds in the vicinity of Niš, intensive training of professional personnel in the use and maintenance of Nora B52 155 mm self-propelled gun howitzers is underway.
This is a training that is carried out on a regular basis with the aim of maintaining high level of qualification in providing artillery fire support to Army units and in order to train professional soldiers for additional duties within the composition of crews for this modern combat vehicle.
In this phase, the emphasis is on training in occupying a firing position, timely target detection, use of an automated fire control system and conducting indirect fire, in accordance with the set standards and norms for effective action.
In continuation of the training, the crews are to undergo more complex field training contents and programmed firings, where they will have the opportunity to demonstrate tactical skills and qualification in arms for the implementation of specific tasks in combat operations.
Continuous training and tactical exercises are key to maintaining the high level of qualification and combat readiness of the artillery brigade, which, with the introduction of the self-propelled gun howitzers into operational use, has significantly improved its capabilities for providing reliable, precise and powerful fire support to units of the Serbian Armed Forces in conducting operations.
