SAF scouts undergo tactical training
Members of the Armoured-Reconnaissance Battalion designated to engage in Army operations have undergone tactical training at the Serbian Armed Forces’ training areas in the vicinity of Niš.
It is an important segment of training for professional unit members and its purpose is to maintain and improve the unit members’ skills in gathering intelligence in different tactical circumstances.
During the field training, the trainees practiced observation and data collection tactics and procedures, as well as carrying out patrols and ambushes using the unit’s principal combat asset – the BRDM-2MS armoured-reconnaissance vehicle.
Special focus was given to the training of professional soldiers who have recently been admitted to the unit and assigned to perform the duties of the combat vehicle drivers and gunners. Besides being taught to perform reconnaissance tasks, they were also taught to properly and safely handle the armoured-reconnaissance vehicle and use it in combat.
The training conducted in all conditions throughout the year is critically important for maintaining the Armoured-Reconnaissance Battalion members’ ability to provide reliable and verified intelligence that is vital for the success of the Serbian Armed Forces’ operations.
