Training in Serbian Armed Forces mechanised units
Members of the mechanised battalions of the Serbian Armed Forces in the training area and in the areas of peacetime locations carry out training for the execution of combat tasks in the operations of the Army, with the use of M-80A infantry fighting vehicles.
This training begins the winter training cycle of the professional forces for the realisation of the assigned missions and tasks, and the general goal is to further improve both individual and collective training, as well as the overall combat readiness of the units.
The programme covers all the practical contents of training the crews of combat vehicles and embarked infantry squads, from preparation for the execution of the task, through camouflage, the application of tactical actions on the march and the battlefield, to the maintenance of all sub-systems and armaments of the combat vehicle.
This will be followed by conducting shooting drills at the specialised training ranges of the Serbian Armed Forces, followed by tactical exercises and live fire exercises in winter conditions, when members of the mechanised battalions will demonstrate their tactical and firing skills in practice.
Training in mechanised battalions that, along with armoured units, are the carriers of manoeuvres in the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces, is carried out in all conditions throughout the year. Its realisation achieves the required level of competence of each individual, team efficiency and speed of reaction, which is of key importance for the rapid introduction of infantry into combat and adequate fire support and protection of forces in operations.
