Gala Concert on the occasion of 125 years of the ‘Stanislav Binički’ Artistic Ensemble



On the occasion of the jubilee - 125 years of existence, ‘Stanislav Binički’ Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence held a gala concert “125 Years with You” at MTS Hall in Belgrade, tonight.
The audience had the opportunity to enjoy the rich repertoire of popular and classical music performed by the symphony orchestra and mixed choir of the Ensemble, with soloists, under the baton of Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandar Đurov, Lieutenant Colonel Igor Mitrović and Katarina Božić.
 
In the crowded MTS Hall, the audience enjoyed the compositions and well-known arrangements such as “Guard March”, “Under the Starlight” arranged by Vojkan Borisavljević, “Merakli čoček” performed by clarinet soloist Duško Stamenković, then "Kankan" and "The great old town waltz". . Soloists of the Ensemble on the violin, captain Vladimir Polkaposki and Uroš Kovandžić, masterfully performed the compositions “Čardas” and music from the film “Schindler’s List”.
Performance of the overture from Carmen - Habanera attracted the attention of a large audience, and thunderous applause followed Wine Song from opera “La Traviata” performed by vocal soloists Marijana Radosavljević, Biljana Vasiljević Mitrović and Dragan Milanović.
 
The end of the Ensemble’s jubilee concert was marked by the performance of the famous composition “March on the Drina” composed by the famous composer and conductor Stanislav Binički, inspired by the victory of the Serbian army in the Battle of Cer.
The concert was attended by members of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, representatives of cultural and educational institutions and numerous guests.
