Visit from Hungarian Ministry of Defence delegation



A delegation from the Ministry of Defence of Hungary, headed by Colonel Zsolt Szabo, Chief of the Defence Planning Department, Ministry of Defence, is on a visit to the Strategic Planning Department, Defence Policy Sector, Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia. Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić met with the Hungarian delegation today.
During the visit, the two delegations held expert talks, headed by Colonel Dejan Stojković, Head of the Strategic Planning Department. They discussed matters of importance for the preparation of strategic documents, as well as documents related to the defence system development planning, with an emphasis on key trends in the strategic environment, aspects of the application of the Total Defence Concept, main directions of the development of the defence system of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the application of science and innovation in defence. The Hungarian delegation presented the planning, programming and budgeting system and the challenges it faces in the Central and Eastern European countries.

The two delegations highlighted defence cooperation as one of the important factors contributing to good relations between Serbia and Hungary. It was also established that there was potential and enthusiasm for further strengthening of relations in the field of defence policy, especially in the sphere of defence system development.
  The Hungarian delegation’s return visit can be seen as a continuation of strengthening bilateral military cooperation with the Hungarian Defence Forces and it has helped both sides broaden their knowledge of defence system development planning.
