“Veterans’ Parachute Jump” at Lisičiji Jarak Airport
The event entitled “Veterans’ Parachute Jump”, organized by the 63rd Parachute Brigade Veterans Club “Arhistratig”, with the support of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, is being held at Lisičiji Jarak Airport.
More than 60 parachutists are participating in the five-day event, performing tandem jumps and jumping from an altitude of 3000 m using ram-air parachutes.
The head of the Parachute Training Centre “Arhistratig”, Colonel Nenad Kuzmanović (retd), thanked the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces for their support in organizing the event. According to him, veterans who participated in previous events, as well as those who haven’t jumped for a long time, have gathered at Lisičiji Jarak Airport.
- Some of them have not jumped since their military service. The oldest parachutist here is 78 years old, and the youngest boy to complete a tandem jump is 17 – said Kuzmanović and added that, in parallel with the “Veterans’ Parachute Jump”, another project, “Get to Know Yourself, Make a Parachute Jump” is being carried out at Lisičiji Jarak Airport, from July to the end of November.
On the first day of the event, about 120 jumps were completed in six flights.
