126th ASEWG Brigade Day Marked
A military ceremony was held in the Banjica Barracks today on the occasion of the 126th ASEWG Brigade Day, which commemorates October 12, 1992, when this unit was formed.
As part of the celebrations, the Brigade units held a parade, work results were summarized, awards were given to the most deserving individuals and wreaths were laid near the monument located in the barracks, dedicated to the unit members killed in the NATO aggression in 1999.
The review of the results achieved in the past period highlighted Brigade members’ professionalism and competence, as well as the acquisition of state-of-the-art radar systems, which helped the unit meet the highest standards and increased its ability to carry out specific tasks of monitoring and protecting the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
The ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defence Commander Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, representatives of SAF units, Serbian Orthodox Church, local self-government bodies and institutions collaborating with the Brigade.
