Serbian Armed Forces help to repair roads in Kuršumlija Municipality
An engineering group drawn from the 3rd Army Brigade is currently repairing a 5-km road connecting the villages of Dobri Do and Crvenka near Kuršumlija.
The repair works are being carried out as part of the civil-military cooperation efforts aimed at providing assistance to the residents of these villages and making their lives easier. This is also an opportunity for the Serbian Armed Forces’ engineers to improve their level of competence and skill.
The commander of the engineering group, Sergeant 1st Class Boban Milosavljević, highlights the modern machinery used to carry out the works and the commitment of the Third Brigade members as the main factors contributing to the fulfilment of the set goals and tasks.
— The main purpose of these road repair works is to provide better living conditions for the locals - says Sergeant Milosavljević, adding that the project, carried out by members of the 310th Engineer Battalion and the 37th Mechanized Battalion of the Third Army Brigade, began on September 23 and that the deadline for its completion is October 11.
Recently, the engineering group has also been involved in the projects to improve the riverbeds of the Toplica and Kosanica rivers in the Toplica District.
Participation in projects like this provides members of the Serbian Armed Forces’ engineer units with opportunities to test their abilities and further improve their skills in operating state-of-the-art engineering machinery used for repairing roads, overcoming obstacles, putting up barriers and terrain masking.
The Serbian Armed Forces carry out civil-military cooperation projects throughout the country, with the aim of strengthening trust and understanding between the military and local communities, creating better living conditions and protecting material assets, showing that they are always at the service of their citizens, not only to defend the country, but also to provide assistance to the people in need.
