Military holidays marked
Military ceremonies were held today in the Serbian Armed Forces to celebrate the Third Army Brigade Day and the Third Training Centre Day.
The Third Army Brigade Day, which commemorates October 7, 1912, when the Second Infantry Regiment “Knjaz Mihailo” of the Moravian Division, better known as the “Iron Regiment”, started its engagement in the First Balkan War, was marked in Niš. With the brigade members standing in ranks, the results of their work over the past period were summed up and the most deserving individuals were presented with awards.
The ceremony was yet another opportunity to highlight the Third Brigade personnel’s professionalism, competence and moral strength in the execution of assigned tasks, as well as their contribution to the overall capabilities of the Army.
The Third Training Centre Day, which commemorates October 7, 1918, when the Serbian army liberated Leskovac, was celebrated in a ceremony held in Field Marshal Petar Bojović Barracks in Leskovac.
At the ceremony, the results of the unit’s work were summarized and awards were presented to the best individuals. As part of the celebrations, a display of weapons and military equipment entitled “Open Doors Day” was organized and numerous citizens and students of elementary and high school came to visit.
