Military Academy delegation visiting Egyptian Military Academy
At the invitation of the Head of the Egyptian Military Academy, Lt. Gen. Ashraf Zaher, a two-member delegation from the Military Academy of the Belgrade Defence University, consisting of the Commandant of the Military Academy, Col. Srđan Blagojević, Ph.D., and Major Branislav Nikolić, has paid a three-day visit to the Egyptian Military Academy.
The Serbian delegation had the honour to attend the graduation ceremony of the Egyptian Military Academy’s 118th class, alongside the Egyptian President and Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Egypt’s top state and military officials. The ceremony also marked the opening of a new complex within the Egyptian Military Academy, which constitutes a considerable step forward in enhancing the military educational capabilities of this institution.The Serbian delegation had the special honour of being the only European delegation at this event, which proves the importance and a high degree of cooperation between the two countries in the domains of military education and training. Representatives of the Serbian and Egyptian military academies have maintained the tradition of attending each other’s officer cadet graduation ceremonies for years, strengthening the ties between these two military educational institutions.
After the ceremony, the Commandant of the Military Academy met with the Egyptian president and thanked him for the invitation to attend the ceremony.On the second day of the visit, a round of constructive talks was held with the Head of the Egyptian Military Academy about the improvement of cooperation between the Serbian and Egyptian military educational institutions.
On the last day of the visit, the delegation visited the Egyptian cultural heritage sites in Cairo.
