Soldiers in stationary camp
Soldiers of the September 2024 intake, who are performing their voluntary military service in the Third Training Centre, have done a stationary camp at the training area Medja near Leskovac.
Soldiers of all specialties need to undergo this type of field training at the end of the first training phase. The goal is for soldiers to test and put to practice the acquired knowledge and skill in carrying out basic combat tasks in attack and defence, and to adapt to living and working in the field.
The main focus is on practicing the tactics and procedures on the battlefield, including map reading, observation, masking, movement in the field and firing infantry weapons.
Major Milan Ranđelović, commander of the Training Battalion, Third Training Centre, has explained the importance of basic individual training.
— The goal of basic training is to create a self-confident, disciplined, resourceful, well-motivated, physically fit and well-trained soldier, says Major Ranđelović.
According to him, more complex training is conducted while the soldiers are in camp, since the peacetime locations do not offer necessary conditions for the training to be conducted.
Private Andrija Jovanović from Valjevo says that all young people should do military service.
— Stationary camp provides all soldiers who are performing voluntary military service at the Third Training Centre with a feeling of being worthy successors to their ancestors, and gives them an opportunity to step out of their comfort zone and test their limits. I would like to take this opportunity to invite all young people to apply for voluntary military service in the Serbian Armed Forces - says Private Jovanović.
Once they return from their field training, the soldiers’ individual skills will be tested, and then transferred to specialized training centres to prepare for the duties they have been recruited for.
