Art Ensemble “Stanislav Binički” gives joint concert with Guards Band of Austrian Armed Forces in Vienna
The Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binički and the Guards Band of the Austrian Armed Forces held a joint concert tonight at the Sofiensäle Concert Hall in Vienna.
The concert was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Austria, H.E. Marko Blagojević, Ambassador – Permanent Representative of the Republic of Serbia to the OSCE, H.E. Žarko Obradović, Ph.D., acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić, Head of the Public Relations Department Brig. Gen. Mihailo Zogović, Ph.D., Defence Attaché of the Republic of Serbia to Austria, Col. Željko Bosanac, Military Representative of the Republic of Serbia to the OSCE, Maj. Gen. Bojan Zrnić, Ph.D., Secretary General of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Defence Arnold Kammel, Ph.D., Vienna Military District Commander Brig. Gen. Kurt Wagner and numerous guests.
Our ensemble’s repertoire included well-known Serbian and international classical and pop music arrangements, from the “Serbian Suite” and “Merakli Čoček” to “The Drinking Song” from La Traviata, performed by the symphony orchestra and Mixed Choir, under the baton of Lt. Col. Igor Mitrović and Katarina Božić.
Along with the orchestra, the ensemble’s soloists - Maj. Duško Trnavac (clarinet), Cap. Vladimir Polkaposki (violin), Igor Milijić (accordion), and vocal soloists - Biljana Vasiljević Mitrović (soprano) and Dragan Milanović (tenor) also performed at the concert.
The Guards Orchestra of the Austrian Armed Forces, conducted by Col. Bernhard Heher and Lt. Hans Gross, performed a repertoire including traditional and modern pieces. Austrian vocal soloists, Johanna Wanderer and Col. Michael Jedlicka, also performed.
What captivated the Viennese audience’s attention was a joint performance of “March to the River Drina” and “Prince Eugene's March”.
The concert was one more in a series of activities aimed at strengthening the cooperation between the two countries’ military orchestras and promoting international military cooperation in the field of culture.
