International Course on Protection of Civilians in Peacekeeping Operations
An international course on the protection of civilians in peacekeeping operations for members of the Serbian Armed Forces and armed forces of six other countries is underway at Base South near Bujanovac.
Our Centre is certified by the UN Integrated Training Service to deliver this specialized course organized by the Peacekeeping Operations Centre of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The aim of the two-week training course is to prepare the trainees for the protection of civilians in UN peacekeeping operations.
The training course is being delivered by the Peacekeeping Operations Centre’s team of instructors and its programme includes theoretical lessons about the challenges and priorities of peacekeeping operations and UN standards regarding the protection of civilians, as well as practice to exercise standard procedures in situations where the lives of civilians are under direct threat in an area of operations.
The delivery of this course strengthens the status of our centre as an internationally recognized training institution that prepares individuals and units for participation in peacekeeping operations and reaffirms the Serbian Armed Forces’ commitment to protecting civilians in these operations.
