Special purpose units compete in multi-event parachuting competition
The 23rd Special Purpose Units’ Multi-Event Parachuting Competition, organized by the 63rd Parachute Brigade, was held this week at the military airport Sergeant Pilot Mihajlo Petrović and in the greater Niš area.

Eight teams have participated in this year’s competition - four from the 63rd Parachute Brigade, two from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, one from the Romanian Armed Forces and one team of veterans from the 63rd Parachute Brigade.

In this extremely demanding competition, participants competed in 14 events: parachute landing, automatic rifle and pistol shooting, knife throwing, evacuation of the wounded and recovery of broken-down vehicle, overcoming water obstacles and contaminated soil, precision bombing, rope climbing and area search.

This competition serves as a test of Special Forces’ capabilities, and this year's competition was held as part of the activities marking the 80th anniversary of the formation of the first military parachute unit.
