Visit from Adjutant General Ohio National Guard
Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Gen. Milan Mojsilović met today with the Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, Maj. Gen. John Harris, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
At the meeting, they discussed modalities of future cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard, as well as the current security situation in the region and around the world.
The two military officials expressed satisfaction with the scope of cooperation so far, agreeing that joint activities, carried out under the auspices of the Ohio-Serbia State Partnership Program, were an important and extremely successful segment of bilateral military cooperation between Serbia and the USA and the overall relations between the two countries.
The project aimed at developing capabilities for participation in multinational operations, training, collaboration relating to helicopter operations, flight safety and cyber security, professional officer and NCO training, NCO Corps development and participation in humanitarian assistance projects were singled out as the most important activities in termsd of significance and breadth of scope.
General Mojsilović informed General Harris about the difficult circumstances in which Serbian people lived in Kosovo and Metohija, pointing out that the unilateral and provocative moves made by the provisional institutions of self-government in Priština posed a threat to regional peace and security.
Earlier today, General Harris met with Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and attended a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Tomorrow, he is to be received by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić.
At the invitation of General Mojsilović, Gen. Harris will tomorrow attend the display of the Serbian Armed Forces’ capabilities - Flag 2024, at the military airfield Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović in Batajnica, and on Saturday, he will attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Halyard Mission.
