Meeting between Assistant Minister Bandić, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Sudan



Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić met with South Sudan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Monday Semaya Kenneth Kumba today.

At the meeting, it was noted that the relationship between the two nations was based on historical ties and friendship as a solid basis for finding future cooperation opportunities, including the security cooperation.

The Serbian side expressed its gratitude to South Sudan for standing firm in its decision not to recognise the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, as well as for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.

Both sides expressed their commitment to respecting the provisions of international law, decisions by international institutions and dialogue as a basic mechanism for addressing security challenges.
  The two sides also discussed the political and security situation in South Sudan and the Balkans, as well as potential areas of cooperation, expressing mutual expectation that the activities in the coming period would help develop bilateral relationship to mutual benefit.
