New rotation of Serbian contingent in peacekeeping operation in Sinai

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces who were serving in the multinational peacekeeping operation on the Sinai Peninsula since March, have returned to the Republic of Serbia after successfully completing their deployment and handing over to a new contingent.
This was the second rotation of the Serbian contingent, consisting of an engineering task force, to have served in this mission led by the independent peacekeeping organisation Multinational Force and Observers. During their deployment, the Serbian contingent carried out all assigned tasks responsibly and professionally, earning top marks and approval from the mission command.

They were replaced in the mission area by the third rotation of SAF engineers, who, after the handover/takeover ceremony, began their six-month engagement with the mission, where they will be performing engineering and infrastructure works in the mission camp in the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula.
The mission of the independent peacekeeping organization Multinational Force and Observers was established in accordance with the agreement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel reached in 1981, aimed at implementing the security provisions of the 1978 Egyptian-Israeli Agreement. Since July 2023, the Serbian Armed Forces have been contributing a ten-member engineering task force operating as part of the American contingent.
