110th anniversary of Battle of Cer marked

A public wreath ceremony to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Battle of Cer was held today in the Battle of Cer Memorial Park in Tekeriš near Loznica.
The Ministry of Defence delegation, headed by State Secretary Mile Jelić, and the Serbian Armed Forces delegation, led by the Head of the Operations Department of the General Staff, Major General Tiosav Janković, laid wreaths in the memorial park.
The ceremony was led by the envoy of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nemanja Starović.
Wreaths were laid by the representatives of the local self-government, associations and citizens committed to fostering the traditions of liberation wars, as well as the representatives of the diplomatic and military diplomatic corps.

The Battle of Cer, which took place in August, 1914, is one of the greatest and most significant battles of the Serbian Army in the First World War and is a shining example of a tactically well designed and conducted military operation.
