Selective flight training for future SAF pilots

Selective flight training is underway at the military airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica for prospective cadets who have applied for the Military Aviation study programme at the Military Academy, as well as for prospective Military Aviation Reserve Officer Course candidates.
The selective flight training is being delivered by flight instructors from the 252nd Training Squadron. It is designed for candidates who have successfully completed necessary preparations, medical examinations and theoretical part of training.

Flight training is conducted in stages — candidates first go through the theoretical part, and then proceed to do the practical part, that is, training in the air, during which they undergo a selection process doing a required number of flight hours on the “Utva 75” aircraft.
As Captain 1st Class Viktor Nedeljković - senior flight instructor with the 252nd Squadron explains, this is the second part of the selection process for prospective Military Academy cadets and Military Aviation Reserve Officer Course candidates.

- The candidates have a high level of motivation, as expected. In that regard, they are no different from classes before them – says Captain 1st Class Nedeljković.
The cadet candidates who successfully complete their selective flight training will continue their training at the Military Academy, and the successful Military Aviation Reserve Officer Course graduates will be admitted to professional military service and start their flight training for SAF pilots.
