Minister Gašić attends event marking Serbian Government's first 100 days in office

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić attended today the ceremony marking the first 100 days of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, which was held at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade. At the event, Prime Minister Miloš Vučević presented a review of the new government’s performance so far.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.

In the presence of government ministers, PM Vučević gave a presentation on the following five topics - Foundations, Security, Strength, Progress and Serbia Works.

According to him, the venue for the event - Ethnographic Museum, is the heart of our cultural heritage and a symbol of the history of our people, and the Serbian Government is a government of continuity, which, for us, is a question of identity. We are proud of our past, but determined to live in peace, he added.
As noted by Minister Vučević, a lot has been done in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces during the new government’s first 100 days in office and, according to him, we are ready to address all security challenges.

- The President of the Republic as Supreme Commander, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff are working meticulously to strengthen our military and, I would emphasize, our defence capabilities. The sole purpose of investing in the Serbian Armed Forces is to keep the peace. A military is the best and surest guarantor of peace in these parts. A strong, well organized, equipped, trained and motivated military is a deterrent against everyone who does not wish our country well - said the Serbian PM and spoke about a series of infrastructure projects undertaken in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, such as the Corporal Momčilo Gavrić Barracks in Loznica, facilities in Niš and at the Morava and Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović airfields in Batajnica, as well as in the University of Defence.
Serbian Defence Industry, PM Vučević said, is competitive in the international market and is focused on supplying our armed forces with products that will guarantee our safety and security.

- We are safe, not only because of a better healthcare system and a modern military, but because of the care provided to people on a daily basis. Serbia works for its citizens and that is why everyone has the right to a healthy environment, to a good-quality health care and safety in their localities. Everybody has the right to a strong and stable Serbia. This means security for our country and its citizens - said Vučević.
