Soldiers undergoing logistics training
Training is underway at the Logistics Training Centre in Kruševac for military volunteers of the June 2024 intake, who are being trained for logistics duties in the Serbian Armed Forces units.
During this part of their military service, which lasts for six weeks, soldiers with logistics specialties are undergoing theoretical and practical training, learning to perform a wide range of tasks within the purview of technical and quartermaster services.
The training is being conducted in specially equipped labs and in the field, utilizing combat and non-combat assets, providing the best possible conditions for soldiers to learn how to use and maintain weapons and military equipment and perform general logistics tasks.
Future technicians and quartermasters are trained in the garrison of Kruševac, and according to the commander of the Logistics Training Centre, Colonel Saša Petković, training at the Car Lazar Barracks in Kruševac is challenging and requires commitment, but it helps trainees acquire practical knowledge.
— Upon successful completion of training at the Training Command’s basic training centres, soldiers are transferred to specialist training centres, where the second phase of the first training period is carried out. Training is dynamic, requires commitment and continuous work. Once they complete the training process, the soldiers are fully prepared to work with the assets and equipment of their services - said Colonel Petković.
The Technical Service Training Company delivers training to soldiers with technical and quartermaster MOS, who are doing their military service, as well as additional specialized training to professional soldiers.
Second Lieutenant Ana Vesović, commander of the training team for military mechanical specialties at the Logistics Training Centre, says that the company delivers training in several specialties.
— The company provides training for 19 different MOS - military mechanics, electrical systems specialists, energy specialists and technology specialists. Soldiers are trained as wheeled vehicle mechanics. Here, they are undergoing their basic specialty training, after which they will be prepared to carry out their entry-level duties in a workshop as wheeled vehicle mechanics, says Second Lieutenant Vesović.
One of the soldiers of the June 2024 intake, who is training to be a mechanic, is Lance Corporal Darko Pantović. He decided to sign up for military service because he loves his homeland and the Serbian Armed Forces, and because he wanted to upgrade the knowledge he had acquired in civilian schools.
— I am extremely satisfied with the training activities we have done over the past two months, they have met all my expectations. The most challenging and interesting part of the military service so far has been the camp. We have learned a lot. In the military, we have learned order, work and discipline, which are the most important things. I have met a lot of friends for life here, said Pantović.
Upon completion of basic training, Lance Corporal Davud Brunčević joined a quartermaster company where he is training as a cook. He is planning to make a career in the Serbian Armed Forces after completing the training process.
— My motive for enlisting was my love of the homeland, wanting to be in the front line of defence of my homeland and people. Also, I wanted to perfect the specialty I’ve been selected for. Every day we learn something new, and the instructors convey their professionalism and experience to us - said Lance Corporal Brunčević.
After completing this training phase, the soldiers will undergo a skills assessment and then be transferred to the Serbian Armed Forces units for collective training, where they will spend the remainder of their military service.
