The Bulgarian delegation was led by the head of the Defence Policy and Planning Directorate, Brigadier General Lyubomir Monov.
During the meeting, the two delegations analysed defence cooperation over the past period and discussed potential modalities of cooperation in the future, both at the bilateral and at the regional level. The increase in the number of joint activities and areas of cooperation was also highlighted.
Both sides expressed their determination to strengthen mutual trust and preserve peace in the region, in the current global security context. According to them, meetings like this are important because they provide the two side with an opportunity to come into direct contact and exchange opinions on the current political and security situation in the region and throughout the world, as well as to analyse the results achieved so far and discuss the possibilities for further development of defence cooperation.
At the end of the consultations, it was concluded that the activities included in the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan for 2024 open up opportunities for improving the quality of cooperation, as well as for strengthening the overall relationship between the two countries.
