SAF members repairing roads

Upon request of the local self-government units and in co-ordination with the Ministry for Public Investment, this month, Serbian Armed Forces’ engineer units are repairing and reconstructing roads in the territory of the municipalities of Ljig, Mionica and Sjenica.
In the villages of Ključ near Mionica and Brančić in the municipality of Ljig, a working group consisting of engineers is carrying out repairs to the damaged village roads, digging and widening canals and installing culverts that will keep the road from collapsing in the event of heavy rainfall.

As the repair work is nearing completion, this engineering group drawn from the 3rd Army Brigade continues its engagement in the nearby village of Kadina Luka. The plan is to dig a canal there to drain excess water and fill and roll the damaged section of the road.
The reconstruction of macadam roads started today in the villages of Buđevo and Crvsko in the municipality of Sjenica. The work is being done by engineers of the 2nd Army Brigade who are utilizing modern engineering machinery that the unit has been equipped with over the past several years.

In accordance with the annual assignment schedule, the engineers of the Serbian Armed Forces are also carrying out reconstruction of roads in Jastrebac, which will be used both by the units of the Serbian Armed Forces and the locals.
By repairing and reconstructing roads, members of engineer units specializing in road construction improve their ability to perform specific tasks and at the same time help local communities to create better living and working conditions, proving that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces are always and everywhere at the service of the citizens.
