Training in Use of Combat Vehicles in Peacekeeping Operations

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces are currently conducting the training for the use of armoured combat vehicles in peacekeeping operations, and the training takes places at "Borovac" training area and at Base "South" near Bujanovac.

The training is carried out on multi-purpose wheeled vehicles "Miloš", which is planned to be used by the Serbian Armed Forces contingent during the implementation of tasks in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.

In order to fully master this modern combat asset, officers and soldiers undergo theoretical and practical forms of training in seminar rooms and on training areas. Now, in the field, they are acquiring knowledge and skills to overcome obstacles and safely operate vehicles in difficult terrain, at the same time training for their exploitation, maintenance and elimination of possible malfunctions, as well as for the handling of weapons and the execution of fire and tactical tasks.
This training is just one segment of the overall several-month long preparation that drivers and gunners of the Serbian Armed Forces undergo before their deployment to the Area of Operation in order to be fully trained to perform their tasks as part of the peacekeeping forces.

The multipurpose wheeled armoured combat vehicle M-16 "Miloš", nationally produced, is intended for the execution of various combat tasks in offensive and defensive operations. It is equipped with a remotely controlled combat station with a 12.7 mm machine gun and it can operate by day and night, which makes it a modern and effective combat system.
