Ceremonial Sendoff of Competitors from Olympic Team in Military Academy Athletic Hall



Today, in the Athletic Hall of the Military Academy, that military higher educational establishment and the Serbian Olympic Committee organised the Olympic Day which included motivational forum and sendoff for competitors from the Olympic team of the Republic of Serbia to Paris.

By this event, the University of Defence and Military Academy supported the participation of Serbian Olympic team in the Olympic Games in Paris, which are being held from 26th July to 11th August this year. One of the members of Serbian Olympic team is the member of the Military Academy Sport Unit, military employee Aleksandar Kukolj.

Head of the Military Academy Colonel Srđan Blagojević, PhD stressed that the Serbian Olympic Committee had supported the work of the Military Academy and its determination to preserve the tradition of chivalry and sportsmanship, and he explained that today’s event was the way for the Military Academy to repay that support to the Serbian Olympic team.

- Today, we have gathered here wishing to repay your support and to give you even more strength, will and love that is necessary for the achievement of supreme results. We have organised this gathering today to support the Olympic team of Serbia that will represent our country in Olympic Games in Paris - said Colonel Blagojević, stressing that the Military Academy was proud of Kukolj being the members of this year’s Olympic team, who had won medals at most significant world competitions, and he expressed hope that it would be the same this time as well.

President of the Serbian Olympic Committee Božidar Maljković pointed out that the goal of this year’s participation of Serbian Olympic team was to win more than nine medals, which would be, according to him, a great success for our country. Maljković expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation between the Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, and with the fact that this year one member of the Olympic team was the member of Military Academy Sport Unit.

Aleksandar Kukolj, one of the athletes to represent Serbia at the Olympic Games expressed his gratitude to everyone on their support and reminded that he had been a member of the Sport Unit for six years.

- I can promise that I will give my best, and that the competition will be fierce and relentless, and I wish a lot of luck to the Olympic team, and may we make our dreams come true - Kukolj said.

Head of the Military Academy Colonel Srđan Blagojević, PhD presented plaques to the Serbian Olympic Committee and Aleksandar Kukolj for the contribution to the development of stellar military sport and the participation of Sport Unit members in the Olympic Games in Paris.
