Minister Gašić Attends Celebration of MI Day and Serbian Police Day
Today, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić attended the central ceremony of marking the Day of the Ministry of Interior and Serbian Police Day held in Training Centre “Makiš”.
The celebration was also attended by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić, Chief of General Staff of Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović and members of boards of the minister of defence and chief of General Staff.
The celebration included a static display and a demonstration of capabilities of police units.
The Day of the Ministry of Interior and Serbian Police Day is marked in memory of the events from June 1862 when Serbian Gendarmerie played a pivotal role in the conflict with the Turks after the murder of a Serbian boy near Čukur Fountain, and during Turkish bombardment of Belgrade that followed the next day.
