Staff talks with representatives of German Federal Ministry of Defence



A delegation from the Ministry of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany, led by Brigadier General Maik Keller, paid a visit yesterday to the Republic of Serbia to hold staff talks with representatives of the Defence Policy Sector.
The German delegation was received by the head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Colonel Nebojša Svjetlica. The meeting discussed modalities of defence cooperation and ways to further improve it.

During the talks, the German delegation was informed about the scope of involvement of members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in EU missions and operations and their overall contribution to EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy.

The German delegation was also received by acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the political and security situation in the Western Balkans region.
Brigadier General Maik Keller expressed pleasure at the opportunity to hold talks with the Serbian MOD delegation and emphasized the importance of Serbia for the preservation of peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

During the German delegation’s visit to Belgrade, the donation of DINGO armoured ambulance vehicles was finalized and the takeover of the donated vehicles took place in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
