Ministry of Defence delegation participates in Schuman Forum
A delegation from the Ministry of Defence, led by Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić, has taken part in the EU's Schuman Security and Defence Forum (Schuman Forum) in Brussels, at the invitation of the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
The delegation from the Ministry of Defence took part in a number of round tables discussing issues relating to the global security situation, the latest threats and challenges and their consequences at the global level, establishing partnerships and strengthening international cooperation, as well as in workshops on critical infrastructure protection and countering hybrid and cyber threats.The second edition of the Schuman Forum has brought together defence ministers and other high-ranking defence and security officials from about 50 partner countries and 27 EU Member States, as well as international and regional organizations collaborating with the EU in the aforementioned fields. Representatives of the civilian sector and academia have also taken part in the Forum with the aim of broadening social dialogue on international security and defence issues.
The long-standing defence and security partnership between the Republic of Serbia and the European Union is primarily reflected in our contribution to EU military operations and missions. By participating in this important event, Serbia has reaffirmed its commitment to being a responsible partner to the European Union in safeguarding peace and stability.
