Gun salute marks Victory Day

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard have fired a gun salute in Kalemegdan to mark May 9 – Victory over Fascism Day.
The ceremony was attended by acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources Siniša Radović, Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, Head of the Military Office of the President of the Republic, Brigadier General Predrag Kraljević, and Guard Commander Brigadier General Željko Furundžić.
After the national flag was raised and the Serbian national anthem was played, President Vučić’s orders were read and ten gun salutes from six artillery weapons were fired.

Victory over Fascism Day commemorates May 9, 1945, when the Second World War ended in Europe following the unconditional surrender of Germany.
