Minister Vučević Meets Member of German Parliament Lips
Today, in Belgrade, Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met a member of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany Patricia Lips.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minister of defence bid welcome to the German delegation and underlined the significance of such and similar meetings. On that occasion, Minister Vučević stressed that the full membership of the European Union remained the foreign policy course and strategic orientation of the Republic of Serbia.
In an open and comprehensive conversation, the interlocutors highlighted that security challenges of that moment were common for all European countries and that all should responsibly approach to their resolution with a view of maintaining peace and further economic progress.
Minister Vučević expressed disappointment with the long-lasting non-fulfilment of provisions of the Brussels Agreement and underscored the determination of Serbia to contribute to further development of regional relations and of local initiatives such as the Open Balkans and Berlin Process.
According to him, the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is complex and sensitive and warned that it more and more represents a humanitarian issue.
Member of the Bundestag Lips expressed her satisfaction with today’s meeting and agreed with Minister Vučević regarding the level of development of the relations between the two countries.
She pointed out the great importance of European integration of the Western Balkan countries, which, as she emphasised, did not imply automatic resolution of all problems, but represented a strong contribution to preserving regional security and development.
