Remembrance Day for Victims of NATO Aggression against FRY
The Remembrance Day for Victims of NATO Aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and 25 years since the beginning of the brutal bombing of a sovereign country have been marked by commemorative events held in commands, units and establishments of the Serbian Armed Forces and in a number of cities and municipalities by laying wreaths at memorials to those who perished while defending the fatherland.
Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Gen. Milan Mojsilović laid wreaths at the Memorial to the Victims of the 1990–2000 Wars in Kuršumlija and the memorial honouring the fallen members of the Yugoslav Armed Forces at the “Toplica Uprising” barracks in that city.
Paying tribute to the victims of NATO aggression, General Mojsilović said that members of the Serbian Armed Forces proudly keep the memory of the soldiers and officers who were killed while defending their fatherland, but also of all members of the security forces who died during the aggression against our country.
Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Lt. Gen. Želimir Glišović laid a wreath at the memorial to Lance Corporal Boban Nedeljković at the “Ratko Pavlović Ćićko” barracks in Prokuplje.
Together with members of their respective boards, Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Mojsilović will attend the official unveiling of memorial plaques to new Kosovo heroes in the crypt of the Church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Niš and the main commemorative event in Prokuplje.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces have taken part in other commemorative activities organized by various cities and municipalities, veterans and other organizations dedicated to nurturing military traditions.
