State Secretary Starović meets with representatives of U.S. Department of Defense, Congress
As part of their visit to the United States of America, an MOD delegation led by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović met with representatives of the U.S. Department of Defense and Congress.
State Secretary Starović met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Tressa Guenov to discuss the visit and sum up the results of bilateral consultations. They confirmed the intention to implement planned activities, understanding the circumstances that could cause their postponement.During the visit, a meeting was held with U.S. Congressman Eric Swalwell, member of the House Homeland Security Committee, in which both parties expressed their belief that higher level of bilateral cooperation would be achieved in the forthcoming period, both in the field of defence and other areas of mutual interest.
At the end of the visit, State Secretary Starović gave the Voice of America an interview in which he assessed his visit to the USA and highlighted priority areas of cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the U.S. Department of Defense in the coming period.
